Each page is filled with bold images of America’s landscape: the plains in the Midwest, city lights in New York, bayou in the south, Mount Rushmore, and the Rocky Mountains. The illustrations fill the entire page giving the illusion that the reader is there in the picture. You can feel the wind in the grasses and smell the fresh air. You gain and love and understanding of the poem/song written by Katharine Lee Bates.
